If you ask me what I came to do in this world, I, an artist, will answer you: I am here to live out loud.

Artist Statement
The yearning to create visual art has been a constant thrumming in me from my earliest days. Lacking an aptitude for drawing, I thought this would be a dream unrealized. Twenty years ago, empowered by my partner, the architect and photographer Michael Dunlap, I began my endeavor as a photographer. A decade ago I was honored to join the collaborative of artists at Southlight Gallery, where my work is represented.
In 2016, surrounded in northeast Florida by a cadre of incredible friends who are exquisite, impeccable visual artists, I began painting abstractions in acrylics and oils. I am indebted to all who have shared their knowledge, techniques, and encouragement. Recently, I added assemblages that incorporate rusted metals to my artistic repertoire. Textile experiments are on the horizon.
In each unique expression I try to reveal or reflect the exquisite pathos that makes this life meaningful. For me that often requires reduction into visual haiku.
